List #1 is filled with typically Italian music but not including the usual suspects (Bocelli & Co). Enjoy.

List #2 is international, avoiding the ‘audiophile’ albums as per your recommendation.

Thought I would send another batch of things I consider chestnuts of mine...

I enjoy reading about music and discovering new music. Lovely Recordings is a great place to share and discover this passion. I hope to make you discover something new with this list and that you can feel the same thing I did when I discovered these recordings for the very first time!

As a teenager in the late 60s and early 70s, I listened to mostly rock but was also exposed to my father's jazz collection. Later my musical tastes broadened to include blues, world and classical. I have recently ripped my extensive CD collection to NAS storage and donated my long unused vinyl to our local jazz radio station for a fundraiser. This year my brother gave me a Tidal subscription as a gift and I am thoroughly enjoying using it to sample many of the recommendations I see in Lovely Recordings. Thanks to everyone for the recommendations!

As often happens when friends come to dinner, we ended the evening, glass in hand, listening to a couple of their favourite tracks, followed by a couple of mine. "So," she said, settling into the listening seat for her turn, "I guess this is the sweet spot in your happy place?"

"Exactly!" said my wife. "Exactly!"

She’s right. I have loved music—playing and listening—for as long as I remember. I’m not one of those stereophiles that buys new equipment more often than new music, but it has to be said that I have only once in my adult life owned a car that was worth more than my stereo. When it comes to transporting me to out of reach places, the stereo wins hands down.

I love discovering new music. My favorite holidays are traveling to music fests. Hope you like the list.

Working out in the bush (as we say in Canada) or in the field (as we say in the United States), I’ve found that I’ve spent quite a bit of time in a variety of landscapes, usually alone or perhaps with one other person. Many people believe that working alone out in the bush may not be a good thing, but I’ve found that it gives one time and space to think and notice the world around you without any background noise or distractions. I don’t think that being alone is necessarily a bad thing. So, here is some music that I think reflects the solitude of being out in the bush.

I love music. Good music is good music regardless of genre. The following is what comes to my mind when thinking of lovely recordings. All are on Tidal. The following are good music whether on HiFi or AM radio. I think these are unique from things previously listed. If not, I missed something and apologize.

For Lovely Recording I selected music that speaks to me on many levels—and yes they all sound great!!!

As not to repeat Michael Manousselis selections of Lovely Recordings where I enjoy many of the same recordings on a daily basis, I’ve chosen to go the fun route. These recordings certainly won’t be played for critical listeners on expensive rigs but I definitive enjoy them in my car or listening on head-phones riding the subway, a fun factor of 10.

I've been feeling for quite some time an increasing interest in finding music that adds a new texture to my collection, as opposed to buying multiple releases from the same artist. Here I gather a mix of both expected and unpredictable artists, a selection of both local and world music that did precisely this.

Greetings fellow Audio Streamers.

Michael has often stated that he doesn’t want reviews, he wants stories. Well Michael, having been a collector of recorded music for the last 50 years I have many stories, so for my first contribution to Lovely Recordings let me start with the very first one.

I guess I should caption my third installment of Lovely Recordings The Lost Chestnuts, as it features three recordings that were thought to have been lost to the dustbin of history but were thankfully found and brought forth to be heard by fans of these great artists.
