Summertime Music Mix

Summertime Mix

In the winter she itches in uncomfortable sweaters, waiting to shed her December skin.

If she worships the sun, the feelings are mutual.

It seems to try harder when she’s around. Summer is the only thing that truly makes her happy, just as sure as winters bring her down.

Like fresh fruit and fashion, music is seasonal, and so summer prescribes its own kind of soundtrack.

Where the best winter music celebrates solitude, summer selections should be generously inclusive: Like nachos, cold beer, and BBQs, this music is meant for sharing.

Whether you’re at the beach, by the poolside, or in a dense South American jungle plotting the overthrow of a government with a group of like-minded revolutionaries, what’s playing in the background should unite everybody, just like a sunset.

For this inaugural instalment of an intended seasonal-mix series for AudioStream, this summer selection features a range of rare sunny soul and ‘60s psychedelic, alongside more modern songs that share a similar spirit.

Like summer itself, the effect should inspire nostalgia for the past and hope for the future in a single baited breath.

Thanks for the summer music selections. I just wanted to point out that in your closing comment I think the expression you were looking for was "bated breath". Its meaning would not generally invite use of an adjective like "single" and I suspect "baited " breath is not something I would hope to encounter!
