I hope you have excellent home owners insurance with a rider for your system as it looks to be worth almost as much as your house. Not making a snide remark here but just passing on some wisdom from my years in the insurance industry. I worked in the aviation insurance industry and I remember many times when people were woefully under insured and really regretted it after a loss.

Enjoy Steve,

Bob

Steve,
Silly place to post this, but all my emails to you on all 18 of my email address are bouncing back.
Even the emails to your support service at your provider.
Thanks,
Gordon

Steve,
Hate to say it but that email address doesn't work either. Yes maybe a stamp and envelope is in order :)

Hi Gordon, I will send you another email address that should have no problems.

Great system. How does the Ayre QX5-Twenty compare with the exaSound e32 you recently reviewed very positively? Or, to put it another way, how close does the e32 come to the QX5?

The e32 is a fine DAC, but the QX-5 outperforms it in several areas. The QX-5 puts out a bigger soundstage and is more revealing. It is faster sounding and more detailed. It also has the network feature that makes it Roon Ready.

Thanks, Steve. I love the e32 but I will definitely have to hear the QX5.

I seem to remember the generation II of the Watch dog to be passive.
What amplifier do you use for it and how is it connected to the rest of the system?

Looks awesome btw :)

Thanks for your kind remark.

The Watch Dog II I have is the older self powered version. At this point in my listening I haven’t decided if I am going to keep it given the excellent bass of the Alexia.

I finally got the Watch Dog to blend satisfactorily with the Alexia. I have a real love-hate relationship with sub woofers.
