This is a sad day.

Lovely Recordings are my favorite posts here on AudioStream and rank right up there when compared to everything else on the Internet. I love to read your stories about music you care about.

I am calling for more Lovely Recordings, especially from those of you who have not yet joined the fun. We need you, the Internet of things needs you. Save us from the darkness.

Please?

As a big Snarky Puppy fan I'm enjoying one of Michael League's side projects Bokante. I saw them when they were in Toronto for the Jazz Festival. Here is a sample of there music https://store.groundupmusic.net/products/strange-circles

On Snarky Puppy they have posted 20 or so concerts in FLAC from their recent world tour. https://store.snarkypuppy.com/collections/live-shows-flac

Was really rather good.

Let me browse my shelves and see what I can come up with.

and see what things I haven't listened to in a while.

but then my Tidal subscription ran out so being able to check stuff as available became an issue for me. Equally, I also couldn't do one list; there needed to be some context so that there was a coherent storyline otherwise it would just have been a list and as I have observed the importance is context for the person offering their list. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be!!!!!! It really is. I will try again when the weather gets more ugly, there are no tomatoes to cultivate and the f***ing weeds have stopped growing in my poor little garden. October beckons???

I have the first offering prepared but I really want to have the whole that is coherent; at least for me.

Hope that makes sense.

My thoughts are:

Where it started - first proper concerts.
What happened when I went to Germany
Youth and stuff
The years I missed being married to the bitch from ....
Catching up after not being with the.....
The folk years
Moving to America from the UK
Audioevo enlightenment
Catching up with my youth
Will I listen to anything that is new - a big problem for me.

I love this place (this website), I call it a place because I wish that I could come by and just talk with any person that frequents this place, like a bar almost only for music. With that said I have a few bands that I love but they are not normal for what is suggested here. If your up for something new though....

1. Band: We Lost The Sea - Album: Departure Songs ( You have to listen to the entire album without reading the names of the songs, looking up the band, or finding any info about them whats-o-ever, after you listen - then read about them and the songs.) (Found on Band Camp)

2. Person: Matt Andersen: Not just any of his stuff though, you want the live set on Audio Tree. This set is fantastic, the song "Coal mining blues" is one of my favorites of all time. (Found on Audio Tree)

3. Person: Joe Bonamassa: I like all his stuff but the Blue Ray "An acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House" is phenomenal. One of the best sets I have ever heard. (Found on Blue Ray)

I have more but want to see what you all think of those first.

Oh and my system is:
Speakers: Double Impact - Tekton design
Amp - Emotiva BasX A-300
Pre-amp - Rotel RC-1570
DAC - Dennon DA 300 usb
Interconects - Belkin USB cables, Emotiva RCA cables, and Audio Quest Speaker cables (BI-Wired)
Sources - Samsung Blue Ray BDP 3600, Surface Pro 4 with JRiver, Tidal, Amazon Unlimited, Band camp, Audio Tree, and anywhere I can find or down load music.
Room - Bed Room 16x20 feet, no treatments just carpet and a memory foam bed dressers, the norm.

I gave that info so that you know how big the sound can be in this room, the Double Impacts are massive with massive sound so I listen when in the room at a low level. They do not loose "impact" nor clarity at low volume, one of the main reasons I got them.
