Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2019

This year sees a venue change and a scheduling change for the always popular Rocky Mountain Audio Fest.

RMAF has moved from familiar digs at the Denver Marriott Tech Centre to the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Centre and upped its timeline from October to September 6-8 for 2019.

If this date change seems to throw the universe slightly out of whack for you, you’re not alone as I’ve been practically setting my birthday clock to RMAF for the last five years as it always fell on the same weekend. But rest easy, according to the show’s website this timing change is temporary as it will be back in its traditional October slot for the foreseeable future (October 1-4, 2020 and October 7-10 for 2012).

For 2019, the show hours and address are as follows: Trades Only – Thursday 10 a.m. ~ 6 p.m., Open to all – Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. ~ 6 p.m., Sunday – 10 a.m. ~ 4 p.m. at the Gaylord Rockies Resort 6700 North Gaylord Rockies Blvd, Aurora, Colorado.

RMAF has always been a show apart from others in many ways partially because of it’s time of year and location, but also because – for whatever reasons – certain manufacturers and distributors always choose this show to participate in personally over the other North American shows, which in the last five years I’ve attended has made for a completely unique sense of camaraderie, product releases and room setups.

So, it’s a sad year for me as I won’t be able to attend personally, but luckily I’ll have top-drawer coverage handled by some of the best in hi-fi journalism. Look for upcoming posts from Denver once the show gets underway this Friday.
