NPR's First Listen

I know we've talked about NPR's First Listen before but the current selection strikes me as being particularly fertile.

There's Neneh Cherry's new album, Blank Project, Linda Perhacs, The Soul Of All Natural Things, her first record since 1970's Parallelograms, St. Vincent's self-titled new one, and of course Beck's lovely Morning Phase which I've been streaming non-stop which is kinda odd because I'm not typically drawn to his music but this one is sooo easy.

Which is all a long way of suggesting you make your way over to NPR's First Listen and spend some time listening.

Another great band streaming right now is The Notwist. Just grabbed this and the Beck on vinyl after streaming them all week on NPR First Listen. Great stuff.

Different in sound, but I also highly highly recommend the earlier album Neon Golden by Notwist.
