"The Gospel According to the Other Mary"

Thanks to John DeVore, I attended the premier performance of John Adams' Passion oratorio at Carnegie Hall yesterday evening. It was, in a word, astounding.

Peter Sellars contributed the libretto and the St. Louis Symphony, joined by six passion-ate singers and a very full choir, brought this work to life in all its mad, beautiful, and wonderful glory.

The experience of live music is a singular event: Fleeting moments in time to be cherished.

That's always been the way I've felt after going out to see the orchestra here in Montreal.
