Edwin Wong's Pick 6!

Daphne Oram, Private Dreams and Public Nightmares (Interpretations by Andrea Parker and Daz Quayle)

Daphne Oram, Private Dreams and Public Nightmares (Interpretations by Andrea Parker and Daz Quayle) (Aperture)
A dark re-work of original and unheard material from the archives of Daphne Oram (co-founder of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop), mixed by Andrea Parker and Daz Quayle. Digital and CD only.

I-f, Special Pack #1 (Viewlexx)
Four exclusive/unreleased digital-only tracks, including Pong's Run and an alternate cut of The Man Who Won't Come Back. All proceeds go back to Intergalactic FM.

Lego Feet, SKA001 (Skam)
(From the label:) "Due to the amount of death threats, begging letters and ransom notes...", this Autechre project gets re-issued after twenty years and for the first time digitally, with another 35 minutes of unreleased material. LP out soon.

Solvent, RDJCS5-EP (Suction)
This EP was assembled from the sounds of a Yamaha CS5 synthesizer once used by Richard D. James (aka The Aphex Twin) on "Selected Ambient Works Volume II". The "liner notes" were etched onto the bottom of the synthesizer and photographed for the album, but this record is distinctly Solvent and doesn't resemble anything like its SAWII origins.

Sympathy Nervous, Automaticism (Minimal Wave)
"Automaticism" features mainly unreleased tracks, recorded between 1979-1981. Yosihumi Niinuma (Sympathy Nervous) lost an entire liftime of recordings in the tsunami that hit the coast of Japan last March and his account of what happened that day and the months following are published on the LP, but it's only fitting that this benefit album be available as a download too.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (Null)
The Zeppelin cover with Karen O has had its fair share of airplay, but it's the Bryan Ferrey cover ("Is Your Love Strong Enough") that's been in rotation for me. A 16/44 FLAC is available for download, but a 24/96 copy will be included with the 180g vinyl.

If you'd like to participate (I would like you to), just email me your Pick 6! list. Just remember CD-quality or better—MP3, just say no.
